Bridgnorth Santa Dash 2012
On Sunday the 02/12/12 we held the Bridgnorth Santa Dash.
The Santa Dash was a great success and everyone had a good time. The High Street was very busy with the Christmas Market on and everyone involved in the Santa Dash gave
the people of Bridgnorth quite a sight with close on 100 Santa's running the streets.
The weather was perfect for such a thing. Innitial signs show that somewhere in the region of £700 was raised for the Shropshire Smile Maternity Charity and a big thank you to everyone involved who helped raising this much for the charity.
We are certainly planning on making this an annual event.
Well done to Jon Rogers from the BridgnorthTriathlon Club who was first back across the line.

Back To Basics Day At Ludlow College
On the 28/11/2012, 1st and 2nd year students at Ludlow College held a Victorian style 'Back To Basics' day to raise funds for the Shropshire Smile Charity.
The 1st and 2nd year students involved who are studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education, were forced to hand over all mobile phones, Ipads etc, over to the teachers at the start of the day before classes started.
Lessons on the day included - Spelling, Times Tables, Elocution, Poetry Reading, Posture and Sewing. Students were all dressed up for the day such as Hollie Davies in a fetching one piece outfit. Tests were also carried out during the day and anyone coming up short with the results such as Sophie Baker, were forced to wear the 'Dunces Hat'. However as Emily Gould found out, Insubordination was greeted with a much more sever penalty.
Teachers for the day were 'Head Of Department' Mary-Ann Preece, 'Course Tutor' Sue Mundy and acting 'Head Mistress' Carol Booth who was also handing out lines for substandard work.
Lunch for the day was provided by the catering students at Ludlow College and consisted of Chicken Gruel.
Everyone had a great day and the total raised for the charity is yet to be confirmed but is believed to be in excess of £800. So a huge Well Done and Thank You to all the students and staff involved.
Please see the 'Flickr' link on the home page for all the full size pictures for free download from the day.
A New Television for the Bridgnorth Maternity Unit
We as a charity were more than happy to help out when we heard that the Bridgnorth Maternity Unit was in need of a new television for one of it's two new mother and baby rooms. This is exactly why were set up and we look forward to helping out all the Maternity Units in Shropshire where we can as the Charity keeps on growing. It is very pleasing to know that new mothers now have a TV to watch while taking a well deserved rest.
We also try and help out local business where possible as in this case where the TV was purchased from a retailer in Bridgnorth.
Pictured below, from the left are - Debbie Smith of the Charity. Sue Shaughnessy, one of the Health Care Assistants at the Bridgnorth Unit. New mother Julie Tisdale with her first child and nine day old daughter Anna Beatrice Russell.
On the 25th October we held our 2nd Pub Quiz of the year at the Punchbowl in Bridgnorth and raised £350 for the charity.
On the 20th October 2012 Matthew Brown aged 13 took on the Snowdon Challenge and in doing so raised £200 for the charity.
